Monday 20th March - walk **** Chantry Park in Ipswich - cloudy and mild.

I was tempted to go windsurfing at Levington this morning but it did not look windy enough so decided to give it a miss looking much better tomorrow, in fact loads of wind coming all week now, mild too:) So I did my exercises, got to keep my back and knee going and then thought it a good idea to head over to Ipswich to see my Dad as we haven?t seen him for a while. We left home around 11.30 and drove to Chantry Park in Ipswich first,, parking by the large mansion. We haven?t been to this park for many years and did a large circuit of the park, probably not a good as Holywells or Christchurch Park but still good with so really lovely large trees:) There are some nice wooded, wild areas and some interesting ponds with a few birds flitting about including jays, Magpies, geese, ducks, coots and robins. There is a good play area for children too and a long avenue of trees leading to the large house, over the cricket ground leading to the large lake and wild area. Then it was back to the mansion now a home for old people I think and around the smaller lake being entertained by a dog in the water. Back to the van for lunch and I give Mag her Mother?s Day present, a Sustrans book called, Traffic ? free cycle rides, 150 great days out, trying to encourage Mag back on her bike after a recent accident!
It was then around to see my poor old Dad who doesn?t look good I?m afraid but he is still at home looking after himself at 93 with the bungalow looking the show house!

Then some more good news when Chris Pages used one of my pics on tonight?s weather on About Anglia:)
